Ronald Ducharme
Ronald Ducharme showed up to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for the first annual running of The Invite presented by Dunlop ready to race. The forty-eight year old registered in the Superbike Twins Amateur class on the #149 Suzuki machine and immediately got to it during Friday’s practice sessions. Ducharme set a qualifying time of 1:30.199 and improved upon that in the first race out of four, eventually setting a 1:28.736 on his way to 1st place in the Superbike Twin Amateur class, as well as 7th place in the outright standings. In the second race, the Suzuki rider continued to better his pace by nearly half a second and closed the gap to the Expert class riders ahead of him, pulling off another 1st place finish in the Amateur classification. It was smooth sailing for Ducharme in the third and fourth races on Sunday, finally breaking into the 1:27.00 range with a time of 1:27.641 and another pair of 1st place finishes, therefore earning himself the number one plate in the Superbike Twins Amateur division.
