Dewayne Davis rolled up to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for the inaugural running of The Invite presented by Dunlop located in Jennings, Oklahoma. He registered to compete in both the 1000 Expert Superbike class as well as the 1000 Shoot-Out class, the only difference between the two is the length of the races. In the short sprint races of the 1000 Expert Superbike class, Davis started off strong with a 3rd place finish and a best lap time of 1:19.52. The fifty-six-year-old wasn’t able to start the second race, but he made it back out on track for race three and improved his lap time, breaking down into the 1:18’s on his way to an impressive 2nd place finish, only about three seconds behind the race winner, Dustin Dominguez. In the fourth and final race of the Superbike 1000 Expert class, Davis managed to come away with another solid 3rd place finish and therefore secured his spot on the overall podium. The 1000 Shoot-Out produced similar results as Davis found himself on the podium yet again in the opening race at a similar pace throughout the entirety of the ten laps, finishing approximately ten seconds behind 2nd position. In the last race of the weekend, Davis didn’t make it the full ten laps in the 1000 Shoot-Out class and received 4th place on the results sheet.
