Charles Klea
Charles Klea was one of many riders that regularly participate in CMRA sanctioned events to make the journey from Texas across state lines to Oklahoma for the first annual running of The Invite presented by Dunlop. Klea chose to contest both the 600 Shoot-Out class as well as the Superbike 600 Expert class at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6. The fifty-eight-year-old from Texas had a tight battle with a rider from the Amateur classification in the first race, finishing less than half a second apart on his way to a 9th place result in the Expert division. In race two, he managed to finish 12th overall on track and beat his closest competitor from the previous race, finishing in 9th place yet again in the Expert classification. The Texan continued to improve in the third and fourth races as he logged 8th and 6th place finishes, respectively, marginally improving his lap times over the course of the weekend. In the 600 Shoot-Out classification, Klea ended the opening race after only five laps and was credited with 8th place. He continued to have issues in the second race as well and was only able to circulate four entire laps, finishing in 8th place in the final results for a second time.
