Carl Soltisz
Part-time MotoAmerica competitor Carl Soltisz decided to load up the trailer and make the journey from his home state of Michigan to the Midwestern motorcycle haven of Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for the first annual running of The Invite presented by Dunlop. Soltisz showed up with a Yamaha YZF-R6 in tow and entered both the 600 Shoot-Out and the 600 Expert classes, ready to do battle against the competition. In the longer 600 Shoot-Out races, the man from Michigan rode well over the course of the full ten lap race distance, maintaining a consistent pace in order to beat out Kevin Randall to the final podium position by just a couple of seconds. In the second race, Soltisz took advantage of some of his competitor’s misfortune and ended up coming away with 2nd place at the finish line, ten seconds further back from the leader which awarded him 2nd place overall. In the first 600 Expert race, Soltisz ended up 4th but he bounced back in the second race and pipped JC Camacho at the line by an insanely tiny margin, narrowly beating the Texan to 3rd place in the race. The Michiganian set himself up for a 2nd place in the third race and another 3rd place in the fourth and final race to earn himself a solid overall result to end the weekend at the Invite presented by Dunlop.
